The Value of Team

One of the most difficult things for small businesses is hiring people.   Especially for support roles.   While it is easy to understand the need and the value of employees.   They help to create more time for the owner, they bring added value to the business, and they can help with growth and expansion. For all the positives there are, small business owners fear the negative or risks associated with employees.

Those risks include these primary ones, but can be even more extensive.

  • Payroll Risk-
    •  You have an additional fixed expense that increased your overhead.   It must be paid regardless of sales, revenue, or profitability.
  • Productivity Risk
    • The risk of lost productivity due to absences (Vacations, Illness, Family issues), without redundencies in jobs or employee count, this is a real risk small businesses face.
  • Management Risk
    • You have to add time to your schedule to train, task, and manage these employees, potentially reducing sales and certainly lowering your productivity.
  • Benefits Support Risk
    • The added cost of benefits, equipment, systems, infrastructure, and policies.

I know that these are not all the risks associated, and for some the benefits far out weight the risks.   Most however struggle hardest with Payroll Risk, Benefits Support Risk, and Management Risk because these risks hit the bottom line the hardest.

How is a business to grow if feels like it can't afford to hire support staff?   The answer is contracted support, or as other industries label it fractional employees.   We take that a step further and move it all to a service.

A service built with a team.   Each team comprises the following:

  • (1) Team Lead
  • (2) Customer Service Advocate
  • (4) Field Service Schedulers
  • (4)  AM/PM Coverage Team members
  • (1) Closed Job Auditor

This team is responsible for helping to get your jobs scheduled, processed, and managing homeowner expectations and client services.  The team is large enough and has enough redundancies in positions that a few people can be on vacation, sick, or even out for maternity leave without impacting productivity or pushing any work back onto the contractor/owner.

The training we provide our teams make them experts as processing jobs and managing customer expectations.

Our system removes all the risks listed above that keep the majority of small roofing contractors from getting the support and help they need to grow.
